That was an awesome episode. Jack torturing that guy beats the cutting of the head with the hacksaw. Although I'm a little concerned about where they are heading with Jack now. I'm not sure I like what I think is going to happen.

Yesterday's episode was an epic one. I'll split into 3 parts:
Part I: It was great how Jim told Jack of what his real objective was, and it made Jack see what he was fighting for at the time. At the same time, it was great of how, Chloe finally believes in what Jack is doing.
Part 2: Chloe insists Arlo for help and he gives it to her. Also for Cole, giving Chloe a cue of whom was helping Jack. Also, Reed for agreeing to meet Jack.
Part 3: Jack being one step ahead of Pillar and shooting scene was Awesome! Final scene, of the torture scene where Jack used harsh techniques on Pavel.
Great episode!

Good point - they finally gave Arlo something to do.

"Go to hell!" "YOU FIRST." ;D
I agree, it was nice to see Arlo finally being useful. It was cool to see he and Chloe team up. Speaking of Chloe, she's so much more likable when she's NOT in charge, isn't she? When she was in charge, she was kind of a b!t@h, but when she's put in a subservient position, she's back to her normal awesome self.
The torture scene was AWESOME -- one of the best scenes in series history. I loved every second of it. I can imagine this was the final torture scene of the show so they had to go all out.
One problem I have... why is Logan calling Pavel? Isn’t plausible deniability the whole point of putting a middleman in there?

Stray thought:
Couldn't Pavel have just stepped on the SIM card, thereby breaking it into unusable pieces, instead of eating it?

@ Aaron, I think Logan called Pavel because he had to make sure that there was no trace of any of this lining to him as well as believing that Pavel took charge as he spoke to Logan. Also, he wouldn't want to owe Novakovich a favor in case it didn't work out.

Just noticed that Katee Sackhoff got a credit in this episode for playing a corpse. It was the best acting she’s done the entire season.
We also saw Jason’s eyes move 10 millimeters closer together. A few more setbacks like this, and we’ll call him Cyclops. Which means Jack will only need one bullet to shoot his eyes out.

Some good logistical points are made here... nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2010/05/24_recap_gut_feeling.htmlLet’s go to tape! Yeah, about that videotape. We’re not sure exactly when it was supposed to have been filmed. It looked like Dana was wearing a different outfit than either of the two we’ve seen her in. Besides, how would she have had time to get the tape into her safety deposit box when she was busy hunting Ex-Boyfriendius White Trashus in the swamplands of Queens? What we are sure of is that the tape reintroduced a mess of contradictions we were content to forget.
Dana tells Pavel the hit on Hassan has been arranged with Bazhaev, and Pavel responds that he wants Dana to focus on the EMP. Wait up, back up, hold on a minute ... In the show we saw, the EMP was deployed to disable CTU’s capabilities so that Samir could sneak the nuke into the UWS. (And then use the nuke as leverage to get custody of Hassan — to torture him on the internet, of course.) If the hit on Hassan was a success, what did they need the EMP for? The Russians’ motive was to disrupt the peace process. Samir & Co. wanted Hassan dead. Bazhaev’s hit would have accomplished all that. If Dana was the mastermind behind getting the EMP into CTU, that means days before she set in motion the following sequence of events: Hassan wouldn’t get blown in the car bomb, Samir would get ambushed by CTU, Hassan wouldn’t give up his files when his daughter was kidnapped, and Kayla would trust the word of her reformed terrorist boyfriend. It’s like we said, these are some highly organized terrorists. Absurdity factor: 10
