If they think this anticlimactic, yet sensible twist rectifies 12 hours of this horrid Dana story line, they are very wrong. It's been so bad. But me thinks that now it makes more sense. Ghghghghghollum ghghghgollum! Yes precious, but it was so bad. But Master says it makes total sense and makes her a better character. But it was really bad. Really, rrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeaaaalllllllllllly bad. NOT LISTENING, NOT LISTENING!!! Leave now and NEVER come back! Smeagol is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I guess, in addition to not doing a fingerprint check or a background check, CTU does not do a psychological test either. You've gotta go threw all that shit to be a local cop, but CTU agent with top secret clearance? Nah... I liked this episode a lot. The gunfight was the best part, although it lasted a little longer than it should have for the sake of plausibility and realistic purposes. Chloe was AWESOME tonight, and liked most of the CTU scenes as well. BTW, how cool would it be if Renee's return echoes Tony's return in S4? Maybe Jack and Cole get trapped, so Jack makes a call to "someone he can trust", and Renee comes and saves the day! ;D Well, I was half right! 'Cept Chloe was the one who made the call. But Jack Bauerness was totally seeping through Chloe's vains tonight, so I think I should get full credit!

It felt like a real 24 episode tonight -- Jack shooting bullets, Chloe and her awesome personality doing her techie stuff, and the "revelation" of a mole.

Yes, overall....pretty happy. Chloe rocked! Jack will be proud. And I love how Renee came in and saved Jack, got herself some redemption and new found purpose. I like her a lot, so I was looking forward to her return anyhow, but I am extra glad it happened the way it did. RIP Owen. Dana. Meh. I am not sure how I feel about it. Some people are saying the story line is "vindicated" now. Huh? But I don't want to be negative, so I will just say this. I think I am happy it has finally at least evolved and can't be worse than before. Right? Hastings. What can I say. I just like the dude now. Can't help it. I am rambling and have a bad headache. Must go now. Later!

Hastings. What can I say. I just like the dude now. Can't help it. I am rambling and have a bad headache. Must go now. Later! I agree! He's been growing on me for the past few weeks. Now he's just flat-out awesome. Anyone who puts his/her trust in Jack and Chloe rocks in my book. As for Dana, I've gotta get some sleep, but I wanna address it tomorrow. Let me just say that I don't like it very much now...

On to Dana... Her story just doesn't add up IMO. She was all hesitant with the whole Kevin Wade situation. So, she can choke someone out of cold blood without batting an eye to get out of that conundrum; she could have easily done the same to Kevin and his friend without the contemplation and self-questioning. And wasn't she planning on giving up the security tapes? Didn't she call Cole to let him know this? BTW, the cell phone she used to call Samir was supplied by NSA, right? Hmmmmmm...
It's like the writers are cheating. This twist wasn't needed. Everything the terrorists were doing didn't hint at a mole guiding them along the way. Everything was going well and would have made sense anyway. It's like they figured... "Eh, I don't feel like coming up with a smart and taut story line regarding the terrorist's next few moves of scheming, so we'll just cheat and make Dana a mole so that there's an explanation for everything that happens henceforth, and so that we can rectify her TERRIBLE character". So cheap. And unnecessary.
Also, the terrorist's whole objective was a coup of Kamistan with threat of nuclear weapons, right? So when their plan fails, they figure they'll turn it into a bomb and threaten NYC. And in only 4 hours, they've come up with this inch-perfect plan -- the whole File 33 thing used as a diversion to incapacitate CTU, a cell phone with CTU's number programmed in it (and know exactly how CTU will respond), a car rigged with an EMP, a "zodiac" motorboat. Geeeeeez.
And last of all, I'm disappointed that they keep reminding us that Jack is in it for Renee, an not for the country (what he said to Cole - "Make sure Hasting doesn't bring her back to CTU!")
As much as I enjoyed Chloe's scenes and the firefight, it was a very predictable episode... yet again this season.

I don't think Dana's story makes sense either.
I liked Chloe in this episode. Even Hastings wasn't bad.
The gunfight did last a little too long. I knew something bad was going to happen to Owen. I liked him too.
And yes, you called Renee's return.
Something bothered me about this episode though. I hate to even say it, but some of the acting just wasn't quite right. Kiefer is always good, but I thought some of Annie's scenes were off.

I only ask because, as much as I love Renee, I felt something too. Not that she was bad or anything....but she seemed kinda removed. Or something. I just figured it was because she had not been in it and kinda got thrown back in. Is that what you felt too? Although, looking at it as I write this....she was hardly in this ep at all really.

Think it might have something to do with how her character has not stayed true to itself throughout the season? When she arrived, she barely seemed capable of socializing with Chloe. Now she's totally back to being S7 Renee.

Now she's totally back to being S7 Renee. Yes, good point. And I am going to go with that, because I loved S7 Renee. Maybe she just needed some purpose, which she feels she has now? EDIT: You know guys, I watched it again and I realized why I thought it was weird. How do I explain though? Okay, it was like her face was saying one thing and her tone of voice another. She saw Jack down and looked concerned, etc., but when she talked to him she was kinda distant and "snappy". I know she held him but really it wasn't a romantic thing as she would have held any other partner in distress the same way. As a matter of fact, she did hold him like that last year when the prion was doing its thing to him, didn't she? Maybe that is why it was weird. They made them a couple this year yet that scene was more like last year. I am so not explaining this right.

There was the scene where Renee was at Jack's apartment and that scene just seemed bad for some reason. Somehow it just didn't look right, like she was overacting. She was kind of like that throughout the whole episode. Of course it could have been something like the music that made it seem off too. There was some music somewhere in that episode that just didn't fit, but I can't remember what scene it was.

Somehow the one scene that jumps out at me is the one where she gets off the phone with Chloe and is messing around with her gun. It seemed like the emotion didn't match the situation.

I just really hope that they don't decide to make her bad as well. Can't Jack have a few people (who live) that he can count on? I know he has Chloe, but not out in the field. I just hope both Renee and Cole can be that way for him.
Wow, I was pissy before and now I am sentimental. WTH?

Sure enough, Jack was able to program his GPS to “East River Kamistralian Terrorist Take-Off Point”.
Confessions of an ADD Mind: I’m thinking that Jack Bauer ought to provide the voice for a GPS.
“Right turn NOW, DAMMIT!!!!”
“You call that a U-Turn, you pansie!”
“You have arrived at your destination. Please engage the parking brake and disengage the safety on your M-16. Kill them all.”
Sure enough, the SUV is suddenly taking more shots than Ben Roethlisberger at a college bar.
Cole sees Tarin and “someone else” taking off in the Zodiac, but they are out of Jack’s range…which usually means that they would have to be in Boston, but not this time.
Owen the Nervous can’t stand seeing his buddy Kane the Nervouser.
After the break, we get a family reunion of the Hassans, and Omar grounds Kayla until she’s 40. With Kayla safe, Omar and Lady McBathist can head on over and join all of the other chickens…er…delegates at whatever New Jersey Budget Inn they are using for a hideout.
he tells his flunky to put Milton in holding, and that he’ll see him in fifteen minutes. Which should give Dana ample time to do at least six stupid things.
And then Dana calls up Samir?
Huh?
THERE’S A MOLE AT CTU!!!!
THERE’S A SALE AT PENNEY’S!!!
;D

That JB doing the voice for a GPS had me laughing my butt off! I could totally hear it in my head.
