We'll start off with the past episode: 10:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
Season 1, Episode 23: Jack delivers a cell phone that is unknowingly rigged to explode to kill Palmer. Kim manages to escape. Nina is exposed as the mole in CTU.
Season 2, Episode 15: Jack must deal with the nuclear bomb at the airport. CTU discovers a recording implicating that Sayed Ali is supported by three presidents of Middle-Eastern countries. Mason sacrificed himself.
Season 3, Episode 10: In order to get closer to the virus, Jack tries to make Nina believe he still has feelings for her. Wayne tries to gain the trust of Julia Milliken when Alan Milliken starts making demands. Chase convinces Salazar's girlfriend to help him escape.
Season 4, Episode 16: CTU raids Marwan's headquarters but somehow allows Marwan to slip through their fingers during the confusion. Jack learns that the trade-off was nothing more than another ruse. Jack tries to talk Anderson out of the mission, but it's too little too late as far Anderson is concerned.
Season 5, Episode 16: CTU makes Christopher Henderson their priority while dealing with the restructuring into Homeland Security. Jack and Wayne must save Evelyn Martin's daughter in order to get crucial information about the conspiracy. Logan is revealed to be working with Henderson.
Season 6, Episode 17: To find the remaining suitcase bombs, both Jack and the President set up bluffs.
Season 7, Episode 15: While the FBI hunts for Jack, he and another ex-CTU rogue search for biological weapons that Starkwood has smuggled into the U.S.
Season 8, Episode 7: President Hassan's actions become paranoid and Dana's ex faces capture, while Renee and Jack kick open a hornet's nest among New York's Russian underworld. Renee kills Vladimir, and the Russians take Jack.

11:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.
Season 1, Episode 24: Jack Bauer heads to the docks for a final climactic showdown with Victor Drazen. Nina kills Teri, and David forces Sherry to leave.
Season 2, Episode 16: Jack gets back to CTU after the bomb exploded. The situation there is tense since Tony became head of the Unit, especially when Syed Ali is assassinated. President Palmer and his staff prepare a retaliation on the three countries involved with Ali.
Season 3, Episode 11: Jack and Nina prepare to meet with Amador. CTU organizes an ambush. Ramon and Hector have a falling out. President Palmer asks Sherry to help with the Milliken situation.
Season 4, Episode 17: Jack's only hope of keeping the President's nuclear football out of Marwan's hands lies in two innocent campers who witnessed the crash of Air Force One. Mike Novick wants to immediately have Presidential authority shifted over to Vice President Charles Logan.
Season 5, Episode 17: Jack and Wayne must retrieve a digital recording from a safe deposit box before Henderson's men get to it. President Logan starts to cover his tracks when he orders Homeland Security to issue an arrest warrant for Jack.
Season 6, Episode 18: The Chinese want Jack to give them Russian nuclear technology, and the Palmer insists on VP Daniel's resignation before collapsing during a press conference.
Season 7, Episode 16: After Jack is exposed to a biological agent, Moss leads an FBI strike force onto the Starkwood compound in search of the bioweapons. Greg Seaton leads Tony into a trap, and Starkwood's military surrounds the FBI.
Season 8, Episode 8: While nuclear materials are en route to Kamistanis attempting a coup, Dalia confronts her father, Dana makes a decision, and Jack endures torture, only to escape. Josef double-crosses his father and retrieves the nuclear rods.

S1 (all-time favorite episode) S4 (one of my favorite episodes of that season) S6 (a rare great episode... all went downhill from here though) S5 S7 & S3 (tied) S2 S8
(All were good episodes IMO, with the exception of Season 8's, which was just decent.)

10-11pm - That's a tough one. Seasons 7, 1 and 2 were all really good.
11pm-12am - Seasons 7 and 2 were the best, but I thought season 4 was the weakest.

12:00 a.m.-1:00 a.m.
Season 1, Episode 1: Jack Bauer is called to his office because there's a threat on the life of a US Senator who's running for President; Jack also discovers that his daughter has skipped out her bedroom window.
Season 2, Episode 17: Jack and Kate leave CTU to meet with the lone surviving member of the Coral Snake Commandos, Jonathan Wallace, who says he has evidence that the tape is fake. President Palmer wants to wait and see what Jack finds out before launching a retaliatory strike.
Season 3, Episode 12: Jack, Nina, and Ramon are double-crossed by Amador. Ramon is killed, while Amador is able to get away with the virus. Sherry gains a short-lived advantage in dealing with Alan Milliken.
Season 4, Episode 18: Jack discovers that Marwan's new objective is to find and activate a nuclear warhead. Logan's presidency is not off to a good start when he starts showing signs of fear. CTU sends Curtis to intercept one of Marwan's subordinates but a lawyer from Amnesty Global stalls the interrogation.
Season 5, Episode 18: Jack and Audrey show Secretary Heller the recording. Heller confronts Logan, and Karen Hayes works to cut off Jack's support inside CTU. Mike Novick begins to become suspicious of President Logan's actions. Henderson regains possession of the recording after taking Audre hostage.
Season 6, Episode 19: Day 6: Jack goes rogue to save Audre, and Bill becomes the White House's fall guy for Fayed's success.
Season 7, Episode 17: Jack battles the effects of toxic exposure, a reporter squeezes Olivia, and it's a race against time to locate weapons on the Starkwood compound as Tony infiltrates the building via the help of Doug Knowles.
Season 8, Episode 9: Dana and Cole confront Kevin and Nick. Jack comes to the aid of Renee, who is being set up as the fall person for the unsuccessful retrieval of the nuclear rods.

None of these episodes particularly stand out as either poor or exceptionally good.
S5 & S1 stand out as the better episodes of the group. This is a really tough one to rank.

Yeah, none of these stand out as being great, but I'd say season 7 was the best followed by season 1.

Season 1, Episode 2: An assassin has stolen the ID of a photographer scheduled to meet a presidential candidate; Jack's wife searches for their daughter; Jack gets more evidence of a rogue within his unit when he meets with Richard Walsh.
Season 2, Episode 18: Jack, Kate, and Yousef try to get Wallace to a hospital after he gets shot by unknown assailants, while President Palmer tries to deal with civil unrest as Muslim communities across the country are targeted.
Season 3, Episode 13: Nina releases a deadly computer virus into CTU's systems after getting captured by Jack and Chase. Sherry runs out of options and decides to confront Alan Milliken directly.
Season 4, Episode 19: Chloe is sent into the field for the first time to look into the report of a woman who claims her boyfriend is part of the conspiracy. Mike Novick calls in Former President David Palmer to assist President Logan. Jack's methods are questioned.
Season 5, Episode 19: Secretary Heller drives his car off a cliff; Jack and Buchanan work outside the chain of command by recruiting Curtis for help; Homeland Director, Karen Hayes, begins to see discrepancies in the President's actions and begins to suspect his motives. Jack winds up in the luggage compartment of an airplane, following up on a lead.
Season 6, Episode 20: Nadia approves an interrogation technique that might prove fatal to Audrey. Doyle covertly aids Jack in the hopes that he can save her from further mental trauma. Daniels discovers that he may have a leak in his administration when he is confronted by the angry Russian president. Chloe and Morris's relationship hits the rocks, while Heller delivers Jack a stern warning.
Season 7, Episode 18: The President meets with Jonas Hodges while Jack battles toxins in his body and meets with his daughter. Tony's true motives are revealed when he suffocates Larry Moss.
Season 8, Episode 10: President Taylor asks for President Hassan's help, Kayla goes missing, a New Jersey swamp claims two bodies, and Jack sets up a ruse to by bringing Farhad's dead body to the hospital to draw in the terrorists.

Season 1, Episode 3: Jack thinks he's identified the mole inside CTU. Kim and Janet realize they are being kidnapped and try to escape. Palmer orders an employee to get dirt on a reporter who might jeopardize his campaign. Ira Gaines' plans come to a halt when he must renegotiate with a conspirator.
Season 2, Episode 19: Jack is captured by a group of men working for an oil magnate named Peter Kingsley who's looking to capitalize on the coming war. Lynne Kresge discovers that Vice-President Prescott is planning on seizing the presidency by way of the 25th Amendment. President Palmer deals with some increasingly impatient Joint Chiefs of Staff. Kate and Yusef are attacked by angry American citizens when they try to get the chip behind the Ali recording back to CTU.
Season 3, Episode 14: Chappelle forces Jack to undergo a medical evaluation for his heroin addiction. Tony interrogates Nina Meyers. Julia Milliken confronts Sherry after Alan dies while Wayne and President Palmer prepare for the fallout. Nina tries to escape custody after collapsing during the interrogation. Jack shoots and kills her.
Season 4, Episode 20: Palmer authorizes an extraction mission on the Chinese Embassy in LA to be lead by Jack and Curtis. The intended target is injured during the raid and the Chinese Consul is shot in friendly fire by his own people. Jack forces the doctors to stop working on Paul and help the suspect.
Season 5, Episode 20: Jack's search for the recording takes him to an airport in the Valley. Bill Buchanan helps covertly. Logan learns that Jack is on the plane and is ordered by Graem to shoot down the plane.
Season 6, Episode 21: Russian ire worries the White House, while the Chinese take on CTU, and the damaged circuit board is in surprising hands. Lisa is used as a plant to send a false message to the Russians in hopes of defusing a tense situation.
Season 7, Episode 19: As grief and loss begin to overwhelm Jack and those he's close to, a double-cross goes undetected, a canister of toxic gas is in enemy hands, and a suicide is strongly suggested.
Season 8, Episode 11: A mother wants to save her son, The Hassans try to contact their daughter, and Jack races against the clock to dissuade a suicide bomber.

Season 1, Episode 4: George Mason shuts down CTU forcing, Jack to escape in order to follow up on a lead on a conspirator. Nina and Jamie try to cover for him. Palmer discovers how a reporter found out about Keith. Jack finally learns that Kim and Janet haven been kidnapped.
Season 2, Episode 20: Jack tries to escape from the Kingsley's men after being tortured. Lynn Kresge tries to warn President Palmer about VP Prescott. Regional Director Ryan Chappelle returns to CTU and exerts his authority. Kate tries to retrieve the stolen computer chip. President Palmer begins to suspect something is wrong when Prescott won't return his phone calls.
Season 3, Episode 15: Amador and his people receive orders from their client to release the virus in the Chandler Plaza Hotel. Jack closes in on Amador, but it's too late. Michelle and Gael alert the Chandler's Chief of Security to the dangers of the threat.
Season 4, Episode 21: As Jack and Curtis close in on Marwan's location, Buchanan looks for an alibi after a Chinese representative investigates the raid on the embassy. Logan clashes with Palmer.
Season 5, Episode 21: When President Logan realizes that he's been backed into a corner, he resorts to a drastic solution. While Karen becomes an ally in Jack's quest to expose Logan, Miles changes allegiances, and Bierko's men plan his escape. Season 6, Episode 22:Russia presses the White House; Jack must try simultaneously to thwart the Chinese and his father. Cheng escapes, but Jack is able to save Josh.
Season 7, Episode 20: A shadowy group of powerful people decide to stage another attack as Jack rues trusting the wrong person, Jonas seeks asylum, and the CTU servers boot up.
Season 8, Episode 12: Jack and Cole team up to rescue Kayla Hassan, who's held hostage by the terrorists. Meanwhile, Dana receives an unwelcome visit, and CTU is attacked by an EMP device, having used Kayla'a hostage negotiation as a diversion all along.
