What's a message board without a Lost discussion & speculation thread.

I'm not sure what to think of the last episode. This show is so confusing.
What did you think of Ethan being Claire's doctor? Creepy!

I'm not sure what to think of the last episode. This show is so confusing. What did you think of Ethan being Claire's doctor? Creepy! It was a little slow, but I liked it. The Sayid scenes were pretty good. I know most people don't like Kate-centric episodes, but I don't mind them. It's definitely tough to figure out. I can't imagine the head-aches that the hardcore fans get when they think up their theories. That's why I just watch to be entertained, ya know? But anyway, I'm thinking Flocke/Smoke Monster has the ability to take on different forms at once. And when someone dies ON THE ISLAND, his/her body is taken by Flocke/Smoke Monster -- Clair, Locke, and maybe Sayid. Maybe that's the test he failed in The Temple. He's possessed by the Flocke/Smoke Monster now too.

I don't theorize either. Gives me too much of a headache with this show. It's enough just to try to follow what's going on.
I like Kate so I don't mind her scenes. One of the more interesting characters to me.
I guess I'm surprised so far because I had heard they were trying to get most of the cast from previous seasons back, but I didn't realize we'd see them this early on. I thought that would be in the end.
That part with Claire at the end was a shocker.
I'm not going to even begin to admit that I understand anything about what's going on with Locke. He was never a character that I was that interested in. Kinda wish I'd paid more attention now, but the whole thing with the smoke monster and Flocke is just confusing to me. I think you could be on to something with the idea that he takes on different forms when someone dies though.

Did you see "The Soup" this week? There's mention of both 24 and Lost and it's kinda funny.

Did you see "The Soup" this week? There's mention of both 24 and Lost and it's kinda funny. Yeah, funny stuff! I already posted it here: dropthecoffee.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pastseasons&action=display&thread=13(Damn hyperlink ain't workin'!!! ) I'm not going to even begin to admit that I understand anything about what's going on with Locke. He was never a character that I was that interested in. Kinda wish I'd paid more attention now, but the whole thing with the smoke monster and Flocke is just confusing to me. I think you could be on to something with the idea that he takes on different forms when someone dies though. Locke has always been my favorite character. His story lines have always been the most mysterious and bizarre.

Tonight's episode was GREAT! Loved it. I could watch an entire season of Locke-centric episodes. Got any questions?

Do you think Flocke/The Nemesis is actually the "good guy"? Think about it, the Smoke Monster killed the pilot in cold blood, yes, but how many more people has Jacob killed? He manipulated two plane crashes into the island, which puts the blood of every single casualty on both planes on his hands. Then, all the crimes that Ben and The Others committed were "for him" (according to Ben), & under his guard/supervision. ...Which leads me to a question, why are we so sure it has been Jacob who has been giving the orders? It's not like any of the other have ever SEEN Jacob. Not even Ben. And another question: is the fact that Desmond never pushed the button underground which resulted in the plane crashing now being written off/irrelevant now that we've learned it was Jacob's plan all along to get them to The Island? Are they connected in some way that I am missing? Ugh, I need to join a Lost message board & ask these questions!

I really wanna see Sawyer's flash-sideways... see how much he's changed. It'll probably be a few weeks before we do though.

Great episode again!!!
So... my thoughts:
What do you think is the significance of Jack's little boo-boo on his side?
Do you think that the Shephard on the cave wall refers to Christian, not Jack? I ask this because when Jack turned the compass to 23, he saw a vision of his childhood home. He said he hasn't lived there since he was young. Maybe Christian lived there up until the day he died. Why wouldn't Jacob have an image of Jack's CURRENT place of residence?
Also, do you think Jacob had 360 candidates to begin with? Because... 360 degrees, right? I guess as each candidate is wiped out, their image in the mirror disappears.
And have you noticed that the past three episodes have featured the center character looking into a mirror?
My theory is that the sideways time line is real... in the end. Not sure HOW this happens, but I don't think it has anything to do with the bomb that Juliet detonated. Now this is not to say that the plane crash and everything that ensued as a result of the crash weren't real. Instead, that is why their lives are so drastically different (& improved) in the sideways time line. The crash is only in their unconscious mind, and it affects what they now do. Their actions in situations in the sideways time line are unconsciously derived from their experiences on the Island.
So... when are you coming back to this thread??? It's getting lonely in here!

Tonight's episode was GREAT! Loved it. I could watch an entire season of Locke-centric episodes. Got any questions? I'm watching last week's episode now. Who's the kid? That part with Hugo and Locke in the parking lot was good. I kinda like how everyone's paths are crossing.

Hurley saw Jacob. Although I don't think he could tell much at that point. They have seem to have dropped the fact about Desmond pushing the button so I'm not sure what that means. Maybe there was more to it. I'm so confused. What happened to Claire? I still have to watch this week's episode.
